My Trip to Dandong
Last summer, my family and I went on a trip to Dandong. Dandong is a beautiful city located in the northeast of China, and it’s known for its rich history and stunning natural scenery. I was very excited about the trip because it would be my first time visiting this city.
We arrived in Dandong in the early morning, and the first thing that caught my attention was the Yalu River. The Yalu River serves as the border between China and North Korea, and there is a bridge called the Broken Bridge that connects the two countries. Standing on the bridge, I could see the bustling activity on both sides of the river. It was an incredible sight!
We also visited the Dandong Museum, which showcased the history and culture of the city. I learned about the important role that Dandong played during the Korean War and how it has developed into a thriving city over the years. The museum had many interesting artifacts and exhibits that brought the history of Dandong to life.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting the Hushan Great Wall. This section of the Great Wall is unique because it stretches from China to North Korea. We hiked up the steep trail and reached the top of the wall, where we were rewarded with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains and the Yalu River. It was an unforgettable experience.
Another memorable part of our trip was taking a boat tour along the Yalu River. We sailed past the picturesque North Korean countryside and enjoyed the serene atmosphere. The tour guide shared interesting facts about the river and its significance to the region. It was a relaxing and educational experience.
During our stay in Dandong, we also tasted the local cuisine, which was delicious. The city is famous for its seafood, especially the fresh crabs and prawns. I tried them for the first time and they were absolutely mouthwatering. I also enjoyed the local snacks, such as fried dumplings and jianbing (a Chinese pancake).
Overall, my trip to Dandong was a wonderful experience. I learned a lot about the city's history, enjoyed its beautiful scenery, and tried delicious food. It was a great opportunity to explore a new place and create lasting memories with my family. I hope to visit Dandong again in the future and explore more of what this amazing city has to offer.
