Lanterns are hung both inside and outside the house, while couplets with lucky phrases are pasted on the door frames. Another important tradition during the Spring Festival is the making and eating of dumplings. Making dumplings is a collective activity that involves the entire family. Each family member has a role to play, from kneading the dough to filling and shaping the dumplings. The dumplings are then cooked and served during the festive meal. Eating dumplings symbolizes a year of abundance and good luck. It is also believed that the more dumplings you eat during the New Year's Eve dinner, the more money you will make in the coming year.

The Spring Festival Gala is a variety show that features singing, dancing, comedy sketches, and other performances. It is broadcasted nationwide and is watched by millions of people. Families gather around the TV to watch the show together, enjoying the festive atmosphere and the company of their loved ones.
