Lesson Title: My Family

Unit: Unit 2 - My Family

Lesson Duration: 45 minutes

Objectives:

- Introduce and practice family vocabulary.

- Describe family members using possessive pronouns.

- Practice speaking, listening, and reading skills.

Materials:

- Flashcards with pictures of family members

- Whiteboard and markers

- Worksheets

Warm-up (5 minutes):

1. Greet the students and ask them how they are feeling today.

2. Show the flashcards with pictures of family members and ask the students to name them.

Introduction (10 minutes):

1. Review the family vocabulary by pointing to each flashcard and asking the students to repeat the names.

2. Write the words "my," "your," "his," and "her" on the board.

3. Explain how these words are used to talk about family members. For example, "my mom," "your dad," "his sister," "her brother."

Presentation (15 minutes):

1. Show a flashcard of a family member and ask a student whose family member it is. For example, "Whose brother is this?"

2. Encourage the students to respond using the possessive pronouns. For example, "His brother" or "It's his brother."

3. Repeat this for each family member, making sure to use different possessive pronouns.

Practice (15 minutes):

1. Divide the class into pairs or small groups.

2. Hand out worksheets with pictures of family members.

3. In their pairs or groups, the students take turns describing the family member using possessive pronouns. For example, "This is my sister" or "That is his brother."

Wrap-up (5 minutes):

1. Review the lesson by asking various students to share their sentences using possessive pronouns.

2. Play a quick game of "Family Member Bingo" using the flashcards. Call out a family member and the students have to find the corresponding flashcard on their bingo cards.

Assessment:

- Observe the students during the practice activity to assess their understanding and use of possessive pronouns.

- Review their completed worksheets to ensure they have correctly used possessive pronouns to describe family members.

Homework:

- Assign a worksheet where students have to write sentences using possessive pronouns to describe their own family members.
