教学设计:Unit 4《Our World》

教学目标:

1. 通过本单元的学习,学生能够掌握有关环境和保护地球的词汇和句型。

2. 培养学生的语言表达能力和团队合作能力。

3. 培养学生对环境保护的意识和责任感。

教学重点和难点:

1. 教学重点:通过听、说、读、写等多种教学方法,帮助学生掌握和运用本单元的词汇和句型。

2. 教学难点:帮助学生理解并运用一些复杂的句型和表达方式。

教学过程:

Step 1: Warming up

1. Show some pictures related to the environment and ask students to talk about what they see in the pictures.

2. Lead a discussion about the importance of protecting the environment and why we should all take action.

Step 2: Pre-reading

1. Present some new vocabulary related to the topic, such as pollution, recycle, waste, etc. Ask students to guess the meanings of these words.

2. Help students understand the meaning of the words and use them in sentences.

Step 3: Reading

1. Read the passage “Save Our Earth” together as a class. Encourage students to underline any key information they find while reading.

2. Discuss the passage together, asking students questions about the main idea, the author's purpose, and any new information they learned.

Step 4: Vocabulary and grammar

1. Review the new vocabulary words from the pre-reading activity. Practice using the words in sentences and ask students to come up and use them in their own sentences.

2. Introduce the grammar point of the unit: Modal verbs for expressing obligation and necessity (should, must, have to).

3. Practice using the modal verbs in context. Give students sentences to complete using the appropriate modal verb.

Step 5: Speaking and writing

1. Divide the class into pairs or small groups. Ask them to discuss some environmental issues they are concerned about and come up with a plan to address the issues.

2. Ask each group to present their plan to the class. Encourage students to listen carefully and ask questions or give suggestions after each presentation.

3. Have students write a short essay about their own contribution to protecting the environment. Encourage them to use the vocabulary and grammar they have learned in this unit.

Step 6: Review and assessment

1. Review the key vocabulary and grammar points from the unit. Play some review games to reinforce learning.

2. Give students a short quiz to assess their understanding of the unit.

Step 7: Extension activities

1. Assign homework from the textbook or workbook to reinforce the vocabulary and grammar learned in the unit.

2. Encourage students to take action and make small changes in their daily lives to help protect the environment. Have them share their actions and results in the following class.
