Grade 9 English Teaching Design and Boardwork - Unit 1

Unit Title: Introduction to English

Unit Objectives:

1. To introduce basic greetings and introductions in English.

2. To develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English.

3. To enhance students' understanding of English culture and customs.

Time Frame: The unit will span approximately 4 weeks, with 5-6 lessons per week.

Lesson 1: Greetings and Introductions

Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to greet and introduce themselves in English.

Warm-up activity:

- Show a picture of a famous English-speaking person and ask students if they know who the person is.

- Discuss the importance of greetings and introductions in different cultures.

Activities:

1. Introduce basic English greetings and model their pronunciation. Practice the greetings as a whole class.

2. Teach students how to introduce themselves using simple sentences. Give examples and have students practice in pairs.

3. Divide students into groups and have them create dialogues using the greetings and introductions they've learned.

4. Role-play the dialogues in front of the class.

5. Wrap up the lesson by reviewing the key phrases and vocabulary learned.

Lesson 2: Daily Routines

Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to describe their daily routines in English.
